P. bishopi can separate from other species by a combination of characteristics: hind wing pads absent, terminal filament reduced to one segment, posterior abdominal terga with broad spines, and all three segments with a dense row of long feathered bristles at outer margin (Phlai-ngam and Tungpairojwong, 2018).

Habitat: Platybaetis bishopi nymphs usually inhabit the fast flowing headwater streams with mostly large boulder substrate (diameter size larger than 256 mm) and some cobble (64-256 mm).

 - Narathiwat Province, Phatthalung Province, Nakhon Sri Thammarat Province, Trang Province, Songkhla Province
